‘Counting On’ Star Jana Without A Courtship After Sister-In-Law’s Dig

It was one almost one year ago when Jana Duggar’s longest-standing sister-in-law, Anna Duggar, commented on her love life and revealed he hopes the eldest Duggar daughter stays single. Luckily for Josh Duggar’s wife, Anna got her wish.

At 27 years of age, Jana remains the eldest Duggar girl not to be married or in an officially announced courtship. And that’s just where Anna, 29, previously revealed she hopes Jana stays.

Last October, during a “Counting On” Season 2 episode on TLC, Anna opened up about how much she depends on Jana. “Jana has been such an encouragement and such a rock this past year of my life. She is such a treasure,” Anna told the cameras.

Anna’s comments came after she was undergoing marriage counseling with Josh following his molestation and pornography addiction scandals.

Anna went on to state in the episode what she thought Jana would make an “amazing wife” one day but was grateful she wasn’t taken just yet. “Selfishly, for right now, I’m so thankful that I’ve had her as just a shoulder to cry on,” the mother of five. “Someone to just laugh with, cry with, pray with. She’s such a treasure.”

Separately, Jana discussed her love for Anna and said she felt they had a good relationship. “[We] call her our sister,” Jana said. “We get to see her quite often. They don’t live too far away and so that’s good. We get to hang out with her and spend a lot of time with her.”

While “Counting On” viewers have seen several of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s daughters marry off in recent seasons, most recently Joy-Anna Duggar, 19, Jana remains at her family’s Arkansas home. While her siblings create their own lives outside of the religious brood, Jana shared during the series’ Season 3 reunion in July that she spends her time in other ways.

“I think there’s a lot of different things,” Jana said when asked about her day-to-day life, explaining she helps with different home renovations and stays busy by planting in her garden. “I have a lot of people help,” Jana said of the project.

Still, that does not mean Jana doesn’t have love on her mind. Earlier this year, Jana admitted she sometimes finds it tough waiting to find Mr. Right.

“I know how it feels to wait for ‘Prince Charming’ to come along. I’m still waiting. Waiting is not always easy. Especially in those times when all the married siblings are getting together and you can’t go along because your not part of that group,” she told Crown of Beauty Magazine.

“But waiting doesn’t mean sitting and literally waiting. I’ve found that when I’m having a hard or discouraging day, I try to look for ways to bless or serve someone else. And in turn it usually blesses and encourages me!”

Despite not yet being in an official courtship, Jana has been linked to four men, the most recent being family friend Jonathan Hartono.
