Calvin Harris was supposedly ready to take his relationship with Taylor Swift to the next level, but the “Bad Blood” singer had other plans. A new report claims Swift was the one who ended things with Harris, and it came at a time when the DJ was reportedly shopping for engagement rings.

According to Page Six, Swift broke up with Harris earlier this week. “She gave a bulls--- excuse about her career,” the source said, adding, “He was ring shopping.” Another source close to the 32-year-old DJ told the outlet that reports that Harris was intimidated by Swift’s career are completely not true. “He’s a global success,” the source explained.

The former lovebirds ended their relationship after 15 months of dating. The split came just a few months after they celebrated their one-year anniversary in March with a tropical beach vacation.

According to People magazine, there was “no drama” surrounding Swift and Harris’ breakup. “Things just don’t work out sometimes,” a source told the magazine. “No one cheated.” On Friday, the outlet reported that the 26-year-old singer and Harris had been having issues for a while, so the breakup was not a surprise to them. “They come from very different worlds. Taylor is used to being treated a certain way,” a source said.

Supposedly, their age difference was also a factor in things going south between them. The source said the “Out of the Woods” singer lacks “real-life experience” and it’s not likely the former couple will rekindle things.

Despite Swift and Harris ending their romance, they have decided to remain good friends. Shortly after the news broke, Harris tweeted: “The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect.”
