TikTok star and hairstylist Hair by Chrissy has come under the scanner once again after Dixie D’Amelio recently revealed that her hair has been falling out.
In the Oct. 15 episode of her podcast with sister Charli D’Amelio, Dixie said that she has been experiencing problems with her hair after getting expensive extensions from a salon.
“I don’t know if my hair is falling out, but I think it’s falling out from them,” the TikTok star said. “So I’m like, kinda scared. I’m losing hair, but it’s connected to the extension… there’s like white pieces all at the end of each piece of hair.”
“Now I’m like, really concerned,” she continued. “Like, does it look bad? I’m scared.”
Though the 19-year-old TikTok star was careful not to mention the name of the shop she got her hair extensions from, netizens began speculating that she may have gotten them from Hair by Chrissy.
Her salon recently posted before and after photos of Dixie on its Instagram page after she paid the shop a visit to get her hair styled. This led to fans speculating that Hair by Chrissy or her salon may have had something to do with Dixie’s hair falling out.
Dixie’s fans have hit out at the hairstylist, with one Instagram user writing, “Somebody tell Ms crispy to just stop doing hair and do something else.”
“OMG GIRL BYE YOUR CAREER IS BOUT TO BE RUINED CHRISSY,” said another.
However, some believe the real problem may be in the extensions themselves and not how the salon styled Dixie's hair.
“Extensions can do that,” one Instagram user commented.
Chrissy’s salon has received flak and negative reviews from some customers for its alleged faulty business practices.
“If you’re interested in s----y hair extensions at a salon where you don’t wear masks #hairbychrissy is your girl. Also let’s not forget she’s (and I assume her team) not licensed in CA to do hair,” wrote one Twitter user.
However, not all were disappointed with the work done by Chrissy's salon.
“@MSkinner2016 that new hair color Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes looks amazing! hairbychrissy did an awesome job,” wrote one Twitter user.
Another customer seemingly happy with the new makeover she received from the salon wrote, “Who inspires you enough to make a beautiful change? #hairbyChrissy.”
Meanwhile, Dixie flaunted her new gray-white hair in a tweet posted Tuesday.
