Winter is coming…but you’ll have to wait until spring for it. HBO released a new poster for “Game of Thrones” Season 6. The promotional art, which was posted on their social media accounts Monday, features a blood-covered Jon Snow (Kit Harington). It also reveals that fans should prepare for an April premiere.

The cliffhanger at the end of “Game of Thrones” Season 5 made it seem as if Jon Snow had been killed. After being stabbed several times, his character fell to the ground, and audiences (including President Barack Obama) have been left to wonder if he’s dead. Since the show has caught up to his plotline in the books, not even readers of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series know his true fate. However, those keeping up with spoilers have a pretty good guess.

Harington has been spotted on set in costume, so he is making some sort of appearance. It would seem like he isn’t really dead, but no one can be sure. He might die and return from the dead somehow or he could miraculously survive multiple stab wounds.

Either way, the poster seems to confirm that Jon Snow will definitely be around in “Game of Thrones” Season 6, but it doesn’t look like his life will get any easier. His bloody appearance in the poster makes it look like he’ll have quite a struggle, even after he overcomes his life-threatening encounter.

Even less surprising than Jon’s appearance in the 2016 episodes is the premiere date. While the poster doesn’t give an exact date, April is pretty much what longtime viewers expected. All but one season started in April, so it’s just a matter of the finding out which Sunday the show will premiere on.
