Gigi Hadid, Zayn Malik Dating Rumor: Model Shuts Down Hater On Instagram
Victoria’s Secret model Gigi Hadid has had enough of having her relationship with former One Direction member Zayn Malik analyzed and criticized by public on social media, a fact she made clear when she lashed out at an Instagram user, who made unsubstantiated "confessions" about their relationship being nothing but a PR stunt.
Although the account in question has presently gone private, @exposingfakeeasszigiii – as the Instagram handle suggests – was dedicated to proving that Hadid and Malik’s relationship was all part of “promo.”
“Fact is that Zayn is not going to follow Gigi or ever going to post her picture on his Instagram again,” one of the recent posts on the account read, according to Teen Vogue.
Frustrated of being tagged in the hater’s posts on a regular basis, Hadid left a long comment.
“Seems like u guys tag me in a new post every day… pls stop.. it’s just negative, I really have no hard feelings towards you I just know what a beautiful world there is to go out and live in instead of trying to dissect a relationship between two people that you don’t even know and that you do not see 99% of,” she wrote.
Further explaining why Malik did not need to follow her on Instagram, Hadid remarked: “For someone who is virtually inactive on the app, I don’t need his follow- my eyes are tattooed to his chest.”
“The energy you put into this does not serve you or your life in any way kids, You guys can call it promo but I just post about my boyfriend like anyone else, whether I support z or he supports me is out of love and excitement for one another,” she added. “There’s nothing to figure out all the time… give it a break. This is my last comment on the matter but I hope u know it’s not coming from a bad place, just would love for you to find something else that inspires you in life.”
After reading a user telling her to keep her thoughts private and not lash out on a public forum, Hadid accepted her folly, but also elaborated on why she chose to speak up.
“I'm sorry if it came off immature, I'm just trying to open a dialogue so people understand that their words are hurtful and not just an 'anonymous confession,'" the model explained. "This internet culture is cruel and does not serve a greater purpose. It's not about anyone standing up for me or about this taking time away from fans that support me, if people that run/follow this account don't want to believe me or take my advice it's fine.... But one day some of you will look back and realize that sending so much negative energy to others is a waste of life."
In the same response she explained while her lashing out might have been “immature” her only intention was to open a dialogue and point out to people even their “anonymous confession” can do real damage by hurting someone’s feelings.
Hadid is not the only one in their relationship shutting down haters for good. In a recent cover story for GQ, Malik too made it clear to everyone in not-so-subtle words that his relationship with Gigi was no one else’s business.
“We’re adults. We don’t need to put a label on it, make it something for people’s expectations,” he said.
