Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Spotted Getting Suspiciously Cozy On ‘Vampire Diaries’ Set: Report

Ian Somerhalder only recently became engaged to “Twilight” actress Nikki Reed, but rumor has it that he has recently been getting pretty cozy with his former girlfriend and “The Vampire Diaries” co-star, Nina Dobrev. Following reports that Reed, 26, accepted Somerhalder’s marriage proposal “with glee,” one outlet is suggesting that the 36-year-old actor was recently spotted getting suspiciously chummy with Dobrev, his ex of three years, at work.

“Nina and Ian were VERY touchy in between takes,” a source on the set of “The Vampire Diaries” told HollywoodLife. And while the former pair do play on-again, off-again couple Damon Salvatore (Somerhalder) and Elena Gilbert (Dobrev) on the program, the insider dished that their alleged touchy feely behavior was not part of a scene for their hit CW series.

“Nina walked in and sat next to Ian on the pew. When she sat down, she immediately leaned her head on his shoulder and just sat there for a few minutes until it was time to a roll,” revealed the source. “[They did] not look like they were trying to get into character.”

Somerhalder and Dobrev, 26, started dating in 2010 after they met on the set of the CW supernatural drama. After three years together, the couple called their romance quits in 2013. Following their split, the actors continued to work together on “The Vampire Diaries” and to publicly support each other’s work outside of the show.

Taking into consideration Somerhalder’s romantic history with Dobrev, is it possible that there might be trouble in store for the “TVD” star’s impending nuptials to Reed? Sadly for Nian fans, it doesn’t appear so. On Saturday, Reed, who is best known for playing Rosalie Hale in the “Twilight” films, shared her feelings for Somerhalder with Us Weekly, saying, “He’s so beautiful inside and out! He’s quite possibly the most amazing man that’s ever walked the planet, it’s crazy. I’m so lucky. I love him.”

A separate report from People Magazine also indicated that Dobrev has been spotted taking the news of Somerhalder’s engagement in stride. “She was in good spirits and was letting loose,” an insider said of Dobrev’s recent outing with pals to West Hollywood’s Nine Zero One Salon party Jan. 17.

Somerhalder is said to have proposed to Reed earlier this month after six months of dating. “They’re so happy,” a source told People Magazine of the couple’s engagement. “They were crazy happy from the start. Their families love each other. It just feels right."

The couple share several pets together. This will be the first marriage for Somerhalder. Reed was previously married to Season 10 “American Idol” contestant Paul McDonald. Their divorce was finalized in December after two years together.
