Is Iggy Azalea Dating Odell Beckham Jr.? NFL Star Fires Back At Rumors
After having previously been linked to French Montana and LJay Currie, rapper Iggy Azalea is reportedly now dating New York Giants wide receiver, Odell Beckham Jr.
According to a report from the New York Daily News, Beckham Jr. skipped organized team activities (OTAs) this week, instead spending his time partying with former NFL quarterback, Johnny Manziel. The publication also reports that Beckham Jr. was spotted on Monday at an upscale bowling alley in Los Angeles with Azalea.
“They were with a small group of friends and rented the full venue out for their group, just having fun, bowling and eating throughout their visit,” said a Daily News source. The two were reportedly seen “being romantic” while sharing chicken tenders and “assorted desserts.”
But according to Beckham Jr., the reports are false. The NFL superstar took to Twitter on Wednesday, tweeting, “‘If they don’t have a story these days they’ll make one…’ I might get that tatted #StayTheCourse.” TMZ also reports that sources close to Beckham Jr. deny any kind of relationship with Azalea, saying, “People will create anything.”
In 2016, Azalea split from her fiance Nick Young. The Australian rapper, who is preparing for the release of her sophomore album, said the breakup inspired her to create empowering new music.
Speaking with People, Azalea said, “When I started [writing], I think things were very lovey-dovey, and I was engaged and about to get married and in that head space.” The rapper added, “I had a lot of changes and a breakup and was sort of like, ‘Wow, okay. Now I’m a single woman in my mid-20s and I want to talk about other stuff now!”
Azalea also revealed that her latest single, “Switch,” was written right after breaking up with Young. “It wasn’t that I was sad or feeling down in the dumps or feeling like I wanted to write heartbreak ballads,” she said. “I was kind of excited about all of the things that I could do now, and I just really wanted to talk about that on my album.”
While the rapper gave Young a chance after accusations of cheating, the two ultimately ended things one year after getting engaged. “Unfortunately, although I love Nick and I have tried and tried to rebuild my trust in him — It’s become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to," Azalea wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “I genuinely wish Nick the best.”
She added, “It’s never easy to part ways with the person you planned you’re [sic] entire future with, but futures can be rewritten and as of today mine is a blank page.” As for Young, the NBA star simply tweeted, “single,” following the news.
Originally announced In 2015, Azalea’s second studio album, “Digital Distortion,” has gone through multiple delays but will finally be released on June 30. The record will include the songs “Mo Bounce” and “Switch” and feature production from The Family, The Far East Movement and Chordz.
