‘iZombie’ Spoilers: David Anders Gets To Sing In First Three Episodes Of Season 3
David Anders will again show off his singing chops in Season 3 of “iZombie.”
According to TVLine, Anders’ character, Blaine, will sing three times in the first three episodes of the upcoming season. The news outlet noted that the first song that Blaine will be singing in the new batch of episodes is a nod to Matchbox Twenty frontman Rob Thomas, while the other two are courtesy of Blaine’s new job.
In an interview with TV Guide in January, Anders revealed that he has been campaigning for an “iZombie” musical episode for quite some time now, so perhaps his singing performances in the first three episodes of Season 3 is one of the his ways to convince viewers that making a musical episode is a great idea.

Anders said that if “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” can do a musical episode, then “iZombie” can definitely do it, too. “We’ve been lobbying hard for a musical episode. I mean if ‘Flash’ can do it, [we can do it, too],” Anders said, referring to next week’s musical crossover event between “The Flash” and “Supergirl.” “And we’ve been compared to ‘Buffy’ in the past, and ‘Buffy’ did one.”
But not all “iZombie” cast members are in favor of doing a musical episode. “I don’t want to do a musical episode at all, never,” said Rahul Kohil, who plays Ravi on the show.
Robert Buckley, who portrays Major on the rom-com-zom-dram, agreed with him, saying: “It’s not like Taco Bell sees the Whopper doing so well and goes, ‘Oh yeah, we should make one of those!’ Stick to what you know! Drama! Zombie romance!”
While Kohli and Buckley are not good singers, Rose McIver — who plays Liv on the series — said that the two can still have roles in the potential musical episode. “We get Robert Buckley and Rahul Kohli on bongos and a triangle because they are not gonna bring anything to the singing department,” she said of her co-stars.”
“iZombie” Season 3, episode 1, titled “Heaven Just Got a Little Smoother,” premieres on Tuesday, April 4 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
