'Jane The Virgin' Season 3 Spoilers: Jane's Old Childhood Crush To Be Introduced

The love triangle shared by Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez), Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) and Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) is what kept the ball rolling for the past two seasons of “Jane the Virgin.”

Will a new love interest emerge for Jane on Season 3? According to TV Line, that might just be possible since “Young and the Restless” star Miles Gaston Villanueva has just been cast as Sam - Jane’s old crush.

Sam was in Jane’s life long before she met either Michael and Rafael. He is described as “intellectual and sexy,” which is just the kind of guy Jane likes.

Of course, this new character’s entrance to the show does not come without any surprising twists. His connection to Jane has a startling impact on the present, although what that is still remains a mystery.

This is probably why Baldoni earlier told the Huffington Post that Season 3 is going to be even better than the past two seasons.

“All I can tell you is that it’s going to be crazy! Season three is going to be crazier than season two, which was crazier than season one...so get ready!” he teased.

One thing fans are desperate to know is if Michael survived the gun attack on his wedding night. Michael was shot by his former partner during the Season 2 finale.

Showrunner and creator Jennie Snyder Urman refused to provide any details about Michael’s condition, and simply said that fans have to be patient and wait for Season 3 to come out before jumping to conclusions about Michael’s fate.

“You’re going to have to wait until the third season to find out. You’ll find out right when we get back within the first act,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 3 will premiere on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
