Josh Powell: New Clues May Lead to Susan Powell
Charlie and Braden Powell, who were killed last Sunday in an explosion ignited by their father, Josh Powell, were laid to rest this morning. As the families mourn their loss, police have discovered new clues that may lead to answers in the 2009 disappearance of Susan Powell, the boy's mother.
According to ABC News, the authorities discovered a blood-stained comforter in Josh Powell's storage unit. The storage unit was visited by Josh Powell the day before he killed himself and his two children. As of now it is unknown to whom the blood on the comforter belongs.
Also found in the storage unit were garbage bags containing kids clothing and toys. Framed pictures were also found in the unit, and were given to Susan Powell's family.
Police have been trying to put together a time line of events leading up to the explosion at Powell's home. Surveillance footage of Powell withdrawing $7,000 from a local bank was released by the police, said ABC News. The Huffington Post also says that police have search warrants for Powell's sister's cell phone.
Josh Powell was considered a person of interest in his wife's disappearance. Before his death he was ordered by a judge to undergo a psychosexual evaluation and polygraph test in order to regain custody of his children, who were temporarily in the care of their maternal grandparents.
The children had reportedly been telling their grandparents that their mother had been in the trunk of the car the night she disappeared.
The police have also named Steven Powell, Josh Powell's father, as a person of interest in Susan Powell's disappearance. Steven Powell had claimed that he had a sexual relationship with his daughter-in-law in an interview with ABC News last year. He is currently in jail on charges of voyeurism and child pornography.
