Kate Middleton Does ‘Business As Usual’ While Meghan Markle Prepares For Baby

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s body languages show their different priorities at the time.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex’s last outings while pregnant were compared and their actions showed different priorities. According to body language expert Judi James, Middleton was doing “business as usual” while Markle was in tune with her baby.

When Middleton was expecting with Prince Louis she seemed less preoccupied with her pregnancy. Prince William’s wife didn’t show any movement referencing her pregnancy.

“Kate’s body language seemed solidly set to ‘business as usual’ on her last public outing before Louis was born, with her open-mouthed smile and the hand raised to head level to touch her hair suggesting an actively gregarious approach with no obvious non-verbal references to her pregnancy,” James explained.

Meanwhile, during Markle’s last public outing before her maternity leave, she showed a soft and serene-looking side. Her moves also showed how “totally in tune” she was with her baby as she placed one hand on the front of her bump with her splayed fingers gently positioned to look protective and proud.

“She allows her hair to fall over her face in a partial cut-off gesture, hinting that she really is ready to back out of the limelight for a while to focus on the baby’s arrival,” James said, adding that Prince Harry’s wife was showing a “more reflective attitude.”

Middleton and Markle have different takes on their pregnancy. Between the two, London-based stylist Lauren Jobling considered Middleton as someone who kept her pregnancy “very classic” by not bringing too much attention to her baby bump. The Duchess of Cambridge also wore A-line dresses to skim the bump and maintains her subtle tones and styles.

Unlike Middleton, Markle has been criticized for always touching her baby bump. A number of netizens had enough of the duchess always touching her stomach in every photo.

One fan accused Markle of “overdoing” her pregnancy by using her baby bump as a prop. Some also called her “attention-grabbing.” Others find the said move “despicable.”

In one clip, Markle was caught on camera flicking her coat to expose her baby bump in one event she attended. In the 14-second clip, Markle can be seen touching her coat three times to highlight her baby bump which irked the netizens who found her act “weird” and “well-played.”
