The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the christening of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son. However, many felt that the couple were not in their best mood as shown in the photos that the palace released after the event.

“They’re unusually stiff even for royals,” body language expert Traci Brown said.

The author of the “Persuasion Point: Body Language and Speech for Influence” pointed out how Prince William was fairly relaxed and happy in family settings but appeared stiff at Archie’s christening. The Duke of Cambridge showed a rigid hand gesture and dramatic facial expression that most felt was “sour” and “unhappy.”

Brown agreed that Prince William’s tight facial expression and the way he pulled his forehead and cheeks downward indeed gave his nose and mouth a sour look.

As for Middleton, the expert noted how the Duchess of Cambridge looked more prim and proper. However, she finds Middleton “more tense than usual.”

“Interestingly enough, Kate and William aren't leaning in towards each other or towards the family, for that matter,” Brown continued.

“Is there stress between the couple? Or between the family?" Their rigid body language tells us it could be a little bit of both.”

Before Brown commented on the photos, the netizens quickly criticized Prince William’s expression just hours after the official photos were released. Many slammed the future king for looking unhappy because they found it “rude” and “disrespectful” because it appeared as if he didn’t want to be there in the first place.

Meanwhile, many praised Middleton for looking amazing and gorgeous at the ceremony. In fact, the duchess stole Archie’s thunder because more were talking about her outfit and her gorgeous look at the event.

Aside from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry was also criticized for looking “terrible” at his son’s christening. Netizens pointed out his pale suit that was deemed inappropriate for the occasion and his mismatched shoes and socks. The netizens were wondering who Prince Harry’s stylist was because he looked like a mess in the official photos.
