Katy Perry Blames Taylor Swift For Rift: ‘She Started It’
Katy Perry and Taylor Swift both hate each other’s guts, but why are they so antagonistic towards one another anyway?
Perry talked about their ongoing feud with “Late Late Show” host James Corden during the latest “Carpool Karaoke” segment and revealed what really started their fight. “There’s a situation. Honestly, it’s really like she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it,” said Perry. “It’s about backing dancers, there were three backing dancers. I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me.”

Perry said she tries to do the right thing every time she makes a “fumble,” but Swift refused to hear her out. Much later, Perry discovered that Swift had already written a song about her. “I’m like, ‘OK, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it? Karma!’” she said.
Corden then asked if they’ll ever reconcile and put all the bad vibes to rest. Perry seemed open to it as she answered, “Now, there is the law of cause and effect. You do something, there’s going to be a reaction, and trust me, daddy, there’s going to be a reaction. It’s all about karma, right? I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty [expletive], women together will heal the world.”
Both Perry and Swift are doing well in their careers. Perry just recently signed a deal with ABC to become one of the judges for the rebooted “American Idol” for a whopping $25 million, according to TMZ. The offer was initially set at $20 million, but after Kelly Clarkson turned down ABC’s offer to judge NBC’s “The Voice,” the network was left scrambling for a replacement.
“Katy had all the leverage. If ABC ended up announcing the show without a judge, they’d be screwed,” a source told the publication.
Meanwhile, Perry is also scheduled to release her new studio album “Witness” this June 9.
Some of the tracks included in the highly-anticipated album are “Chained to the Rhythm” and “Bon Appétit” (featuring Migos), as well as “Swish Swish” and “Bigger Than Me.”
