Kim Cattrall Urges Fans To ‘Move On’ From ‘Sex And The City’

Kim Cattrall recently urged fans to move on from the recent controversies involving “Sex and the City” 3.

On Friday, the actress, who played the role of Samantha Jones in the TV series and movies, replied to a fan who asked why the actress claimed she’s too old to reprise her role. However, the fan also pointed out that the 61-year-old actress has been doing interviews on ageism and noted that he’s confused on what Cattrall really stands for.

The actress responded to the fan directly and reminded him that she played the role of Samantha for 20 years. Cattrall added that she’s moving on from her character and the franchise, and asked the fan to do the same thing. The actress concluded her tweet by asking the fan to just watch her show, “Sensitive Skin,” on Netflix instead.

According to Entertainment Weekly, rumors about a possible third film has been circulating for the past couple years. But Sarah Jessica Parker recently announced that it will no longer push through. While speaking with Extra, Parker said, “It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so far that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

Immediately after, reports swirled that the plans for “Sex and the City” 3 were slashed because Cattrall refused to return to the franchise. However, the actress allegedly demanded for a six-month contract. When she did not get all of her demands, she claimed that she never wanted to return to “Sex and the City” 3 anyway, says co-star Willie Garson.

But Cattrall also clarified that she never had any demands other than telling everyone that she no longer wanted to play the same role in another film. The actress said, “I can’t. My heart isn’t in it anymore. I’ve moved on. 61 isn’t 53 or 41. I have learned so much from our Sam. She was my heart but I want to rest and not work as much as I have been doing for years. I want a less hectic life. My decision reflects where I am in my life and I can’t change that without being unhappy. I hope you’ll understand,” she replied to a fan on Instagram.
