Perhaps in a move to lessen the disappointment of fans over the delayed launch of “The Last of Us Part 2,” Sony unveiled some new screenshots from the highly anticipated action-adventure game from Naughty Dog.
The new screenshots show a much-older Joel and Ellie, along with some intimate moments from the two characters. As can be seen, the game is brewing to be one of the most visually appealing installment of the video game series.
It is also worth highlighting that the screenshots look extremely detailed, which could very well add excitement to fans despite the delay in the release. “The Last of Us” series is already known for its brilliant narrative, so a massive improvement on its visuals and gameplay is a welcome development.
As mentioned, the newly released images come after Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that the game will be delayed for an indefinite period of time. The publisher cited logistical problems caused by the coronavirus crisis as the reason for the delay.
It is already the second time that “The Last of Us Part 2” has been postponed. Initially, it was slated for a February 2020 release before Sony and Naughty Dog agreed to move it to May due to fix issues when it comes to the quality of the game.
Obviously, based on the screenshots, the game has made a massive leap from its predecessor, something which should delight fans even for a little bit.
Moreover, Troy Baker – who voiced Joel in the game – told Fandom in a recent interview that the game will make people “question everything.” This serves as a hint that the highly engaging narrative of the series will get even better.
Naughty Dog, for their part, shared in a statement that “The last of Us Part 2” is “nearly done.” They are only in the middle of fixing the final bug issues, which should suggest that the game won’t be delayed for long.
“The Last of Us Part 2” is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. While there is no new specific release date for the game, chances are it will be launched once the coronavirus pandemic dies down or when lockdowns are uplifted and borders are open again.
