Leah Messer’s Custody Battle With Corey Simms Continues; ‘Teen Mom 2’ Star Reportedly Looking For ‘Red Flags’
Leah Messer was allowed to retain custody of her twins daughters, Ali and Aleeah Simms, during the “Teen Mom 2” Season 6 premiere earlier this month, but according to a new report, her ex-husband might not be done fighting just yet. Following several rumors of drug use and a recent stay in rehab — allegedly for depression and stress — Corey Simms is reportedly keeping tabs on his ex.
Life & Style is reporting that Corey, 25, is keeping a watchful eye on his ex-wife’s behavior for the sake of their girls. “If anything goes wrong” reports the magazine Corey “will go for custody.”
Leah, 23, and Corey are currently share equal custody of their 5-year-old daughters. Leah cares for the girls four nights a week while Corey and his wife Miranda take on the responsibility three nights a week. Despite agreeing to their arrangement in court in December 2014, insiders share that Corey will take her back to court if she gives him any cause for concern.
“As long as she is staying out of trouble and her behavior is not affecting the kids,” said a source, Leah can retain custody of her children. And luckily for the “Teen Mom 2” star, things are reportedly running smoothly at home following her recent stay at Utah’s Cirque Lodge. “So far, Leah’s been on good behavior and things are running smoothly with her and the kids,” said a source.
However, it’s just not Corey’s concerns Leah has to attend to. The magazine reports that Leah’s second ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert, is concerned about the well-being of their daughter Adalynn. During their divorce proceedings last month Jeremy was reportedly granted visitation rights of the 2-year-old, but that might not be enough for the pipeline engineer.
“If her behavior raises any red flags they will definitely make a move,” said a source when speaking on Jeremy and Corey's rumored plans.
While Leah has not commented on the custody battle rumors, she did recently reveal to her fans she may be going through a tough period. Following her appearance at the “Teen Mom 2” reunion special in Los Angeles on Saturday, Leah shared an inspirational quote about living through “hard times” on Twitter.
“Teen Mom 2” airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. EDT on MTV.
