‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 2 Spoilers: Where Is The Last Piece Of Spear Of Destiny?
The last piece of the Spear of Destiny is not on Earth.
In the “Inside DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” featurette for Season 2, episode 14, executive producer Phil Klemmer reveals that Commander Steel, a.k.a. Henry Heywood (Matthew MacCaull), is hiding his piece of the spear on the moon.
“He decided that the safest place you could hide something on Earth is not hiding it on Earth,” Klemmer says. “In 1969, he snuck it onto Apollo 11, and it was planted in a flag on the Sea of Tranquility and he was like ‘Beautiful, my work is done.’”

Unfortunately for the team, the literal out-of-this-world location of the last piece of the spear doesn’t stop Eobard (Matt Letscher) from trying to retrieve it.
“We find out in this episode … that Eobard Thawne has gone undercover and he’s pretending to be one of the Apollo 13 astronauts,” Klemmer reveals. “And as soon as they take off he pulls a fast one on his two ship mates.”
But as seen in a sneak peek from the episode, Ray (Brandon Routh) is in the same ship Eobard is boarding, so viewers can expect a faceoff between the two in the outer space.
Also in the episode, tension grows between Sara and Rip (Arthur Darvill) when the question of who should be the leader of the team arises.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last month, Lotz said that Rip has done things to Sara that she didn’t deserved. And since Sara doesn’t forgive easily, it seems that Rip won’t be able to return to his role as a captain even now that he’s back to his old self.
“In my head, Rip’s done a lot of things to Sara that she didn’t like and didn’t appreciate,” Lotz said. “She has a love-hate with him relationship already. She loves him, but she hates him and that’s kind of a hard thing to forgive. Sara’s not a saint.”
“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2, episode 14, titled “Moonshot,” airs on Tuesday, March 14 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
