Mama June Dating A Child Molester? ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Star Spotted With New Boyfriend Mark McDaniel After Sugar Bear Cheating Scandal

It appears Sugar Bear has been officially kicked to the curb. “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star Mama June Shannon is rumored to have a new man in her life following her longtime boyfriend Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson’s cheating scandal last month. According to a report from TMZ, June, 35, has been seeing a 53-year-old Decatur, Georgia, resident and convicted child molester named Mark McDaniel. The kicker -- McDaniel was reportedly thrown in jail in 2004 for aggravated child molestation against one of June’s relatives, then 8.

“Prosecutors say he molested an 8-year-old child – forcing oral sex,” reports TMZ. “June was dating McDaniel at the same time he molested the child.”

After serving a decade behind bars for the crime, he was released in March. McDaniel is now a registered sex offender in June’s home state of Georgia.

June, best known for her daughter and beauty pageant star Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 9, has reportedly been seeing McDaniel again for the past few months. June is said to have even snuck away from filming her family’s hit TLC reality series, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” to spend time with her new beau.

A photo of the rumored couple, posted by TMZ, shows June and McDaniel cuddling in a bed together. The photo was reportedly taken in a hotel room a few weeks ago when the duo were entertaining guests.

TLC said June’s new dating partner’s criminal record is a cause for concern.

“We are very concerned about this new information and are reassessing the future of the series,” the network said.

June and Sugar Bear, who never officially married, held a commitment ceremony on Season 2 of their hit series in May 2013 after almost 10 years of dating. In September, reports surfaced that Sugar Bear, 42, had a dating profile on the site PlentyOfFish.com which listed him as single. Although he denied the cheating allegations, June soon after released a statement confirming they were taking a break.

“Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship. We are taking things day by day, but regardless of what happens the girls will always be our #1 priority. We want to thank ya’ll for your support," she said.

June has three other daughters from previous relationships; Anna, 20, Jessica, 18, Lauryn “Pumpkin,” 14.
