In a horrific incident, a man in India killed his fiancée's lover after learning about their alleged relationship.

The victim, who was a businessman, was identified as 46-year-old Neeraj Gupta. The accused, 28-year-old Mohammad Zubair, beheaded Gupta in New Delhi and stuffed his body in a suitcase.

Zubair then boarded a train to the western Indian state of Gujarat. He carried the suitcase along with him and later dumped it on the way, Times Now News reported.

Zubair, his fiancée Faizal and her mother Shaheen Naaz were later arrested by the police. According to senior police officer Vijayanta Arya, the incident took place Nov. 13. A missing report was filed by one of Gupta's friends after he did not return home.

Police launched an investigation to find Gupta, and his calls were also analyzed, but he could not be traced. Later, Gupta's wife filed a kidnapping complaint against Faizal as the victim was allegedly having an affair with her, which led to the arrests.

Police officer Arya said Faisal had confessed during the interrogation that she had been in a relationship with Gupta for 10 years. However, she had gotten engaged to Zubair after her parents asked her to do so. Gupta had allegedly discouraged her from getting married. He had also visited her house, following which he had an argument with Zubair, Faisal and her mother, Arya added, news outlet NDTV reported.

In a similar incident earlier this month, a man in California shot his co-worker over an apparent love triangle.

When San Mateo police responded to the shooting at a care home, they found a 42-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities said the suspect and victim had relations with the former's wife.

A standoff between the police and the unidentified shooter then took place, during which crisis negotiators and regional SWAT team arrived at the scene to try and convince the suspect to surrender.

However, they later found the 48-year-old man dead. His wife, who was inside the home during the incident, was not injured.

In another incident, a man in Lithia Springs, Georgia, was charged with murder after stabbing the man he found in bed with his ex-girlfriend. Rendell Russell came to the house of Sierra Forest in the early morning, armed with a knife, and found another man "sleeping in bed with" her. He then attacked the man, who was rushed to the hospital, but did not survive.

The suspect was jailed on counts of felony murder and aggravated assault.
