A child porn convict from Woodsboro, Maryland, has pleaded guilty to federal child pornography charges in a Baltimore court, the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Jeffrey John White pleaded guilty to the federal charge of possession of child pornography, the office said in a statement. The 53-year-old Maryland man, at the time of his federal offense, was on supervised probation for a previous conviction for similar crimes.

"From April 14, 2020 through July 2020, while on supervised probation for his previous child pornography conviction, White began to use a peer-to-peer file sharing network to access, distribute and possess child pornography," the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Authorities said they "were able to establish 20 direct connections with a device, later determined to be White’s laptop and SD card, to view and download known files of child pornography, including a 1 hour and 39 second video depicting a prepubescent 12-year-old victim displaying her genitals."

Investigators from the Frederick County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted a search of White's home on July 6 last year and found 7,000 unique images and 240 unique videos of child pornography on the man's laptop after they decrypted the device. Thousands of child erotica files were also discovered on White's laptop and SD card.

White confirmed that he owned the laptop but told officials he did not know how to access the encrypted laptop. He also said he was unaware of any child pornography activities on the file-sharing network.

Authorities also discovered a "child-sized sex-doll with an anal and vaginal opening" during the search, the statement said.

White was previously convicted of two counts of possession of child pornography in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County in September 2014. White was sentenced to five years imprisonment, suspended and five years of supervised released for possessing almost 10,000 files of child sex abuse material.

He was sentenced to five years in prison with all but 18 months suspended, followed by four years of supervised probation after he was found to have violated his probation on Sept. 30, 2015.

White will be required to continue to register as a sex offender in the areas where he resides, works or attends school. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

His sentencing date has not been scheduled as of writing.
