Man Kills Four Members Of Texas Family, Including Toddler, Charged With Murder
The Laredo police in Texas on Friday arrested a man for allegedly murdering a two-year-old and three of the baby's family members on Thursday.
The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Samuel Enrique Lopez, brutally murdered four members from the same family that included a toddler.
The Laredo Police Department officers on Thursday responded to a home in 4500 block of Vanessita Court. The officers who searched the house saw signs of potential crime and when they looked for the residents, they were shocked to find them dead.
The LPD officers discovered three dead bodies, all belonging to the same household, in an adjacent lot. The officers immediately took charge of the investigation and began the search for the possible suspect.
The officers examined surveillance footage from nearby areas and went door to door asking neighbors for any possible information on the incident. After a rigorous investigation, the officers narrowed down their suspicion on Lopez.
He was immediately taken into custody for questioning. During the interrogation, Lopez revealed information about another shocking murder that led the police to 4700 block of Arias Court where the 2-year-old’s body was discovered.
The police have revealed no information regarding the suspect’s motive for the crime. No information was available as to how the family was killed.
According to the police records, Lopez was arrested last year for sexually abusing a child and faced felony charges of indecency with a child through sexual contact.
As of Saturday, Lopez was booked into the Laredo Webb County Jail and was held without bond. He was charged with two counts of capital murder, one involving multiple victims and another involving a child younger than age 10.
According to Texas law, the capital felony offense is punishable by a death penalty by lethal injection or life imprisonment without parole.
Including this incident, the Laredo city reported four murders already this year. The third murder case was reported just a day before this incident. A Laredo Customs and Border Protection officer was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly shooting and killing in a firefighter.
