  • Mel B expressed disappointed on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's decision to quit royal life
  • The songstress claimed she and the other Spice Girls members were close to Prince Harry and William
  • Mel B felt bad that Meghan Markle was treated in a racist way after marrying Prince Harry

Avid followers of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still could not believe that they are no longer considered as senior royals after their bombshell decision to “step back” from their duties. Neither Duke nor the Duchess of Sussex has given a concrete reason behind their decision to quit the royal life for good up to this writing. However, reports have it that the pair suffered a lot from the things that happened to them, which include the ceaseless media scrutiny, since they started dating in 2016.

Aside from the members of the royal family, English singer-songwriter Mel B was, also, extremely upset about Meghan and Prince Harry’s departure. OK! Magazine UK, in its Jan. 27, 2020 issue, reported that, initially, the “Wannabe” singer was pleased to see a "brown girl" being part of the royal clan. Though she feels bad that the former “Suits” actress was treated in a racist way, Mel B said quitting the royal life is a wasted opportunity.

“I do think Meghan has been too hasty. She was in a position to make a difference and now that opportunity is gone. You have to stick things out, no matter how tough they get because that’s the only way you really prove who you are,” Mel B said. “I’m fully aware that as a mixed race girl in the Spice Girls I stood for all other brown kids in Britain. Even now, so many twenty and thirty something girls come up to me and tell me what a big deal it was for them that I proudly wore my hair in a big ‘fro so they felt it was okay for them not to have to straighten their hair, that they could be Mel B in the playground doing Spice Girl dances, that a brown girl with crazy hair was on a stage in a band,” she went on.

In 2018, Mel B told Entertainment Tonight that the Spice Girls were close to Prince William and Prince Harry when they were still kids. The “2 Become 1” songstress even shared that they pay Prince Charles’s sons a visit whenever they are free. "We'd go over to their house and have peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. And we would have beans on toast,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Nacho Figueras revealed, in ABC News’ imminent special titled “Royal Divide: Harry, Meghan and the Crown,” that ditching the royal life for good was very hard for Prince Harry. The close pal of Meghan Markle’s husband stated, as per Cosmopolitan, that Harry has suffered a lot, especially from all his critics who continue to throw hate and disparagements at him and his family.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have yet to comment on Mel B and Nacho Figueras' statements.
