Meghan Markle continues to ghost her dad, according to the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister, Samantha Markle.
Thomas Markle Sr. has not given interviews since his grandson Archie’s birth, but this doesn’t mean that he and his daughter have reconciled. While speaking with Daily Star, Samantha said that Prince Harry’s wife didn’t reach out to their dad over the holidays.
The multiple sclerosis patient also accused her half-sister of destroying the Markle name because of how she’s been treating their father. Samantha also denied the reports that the former lighting director was given an invitation to Prince Harry and Markle’s wedding.
“The truth is there was no excuse, my dad was never invited to the wedding and that was just what her PR people and publications said to make it look like there were just grounds for ghosting my dad,” Samantha said.
Samantha went on to say that if Markle wanted their dad to be at her royal wedding, she could have thought of providing him the assistance that he needed. However, the former actress never exerted any effort for Thomas.
Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister is convinced that she would never send their dad a text message because this would be seen as an admission of guilt, and she doesn’t want the world to see that.
The Markles are also unable to stay in touch with 7-month-old Archie because the Sussexes have not introduced him to the family. As such, Samantha hopes that when Archie is older, he would make the decision to get to know his mom’s relatives.
“I hope Archie becomes a flaming liberal that ventures out to meet family himself and hopefully everyone won't be passed away by that time. Meg has no right to give him a tunnel vision existence,” Samantha said.
Markle’s dad was interviewed last year after the birth of his grandson. He told Daily Mail that he’s always hoped to be as close to his grandson as he was with Markle.
Thomas also expressed how much he loves the Duchess of Sussex and said that he wants to be able to put a photo of his grandson beside his daughter’s picture frame.
