Meghan Markle's Dad 'Hurt,' 'Confused' With Prince Harry's 'Family' Statement, Half-Brother Says

Meghan Markle's half-brother claims that their dad is hurt by Prince Harry's "family statement."

On Wednesday, Prince Harry said that the "Suits" actress had a "fantastic" Christmas with the royals. He added that his family loves Markle and that they are the "family she never had." But these did not sit well with some of her family members.

Just recently, Markle's half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr. spoke to the Daily Mail and confessed that their father was "extremely hurt" with Prince Harry's statement. He said that while the Duke's words were not "upsetting," they seemed to come out of the blue.

"It was just a little shocking because Meghan had an amazing, amazing childhood growing up and she had a lot of family," Markle Jr. said. "Especially at Christmas and the holidays, she had Christmas at my house, Christmas at her mom's house, my dad's house. So, as far as 'the family that she never had,' I don't really get that."

Markle Jr. added that the "Horrible Bosses" star's dad and mom, Doria Radlan, "would be confused" with Prince Harry's words considering the importance they put on family holidays while Markle was growing up. Just like Markle's half-sister, Samantha Markle, her half-brother insisted that they have a great family and their dad has always considered holidays important.

Samantha was the first family member to comment on Prince Harry's statement. In a tweet, Samantha explained that Markle's family is "complete" and added that their dad is "self-sacrificing."

She also added that Markle's large family was "always there with her and for her." Samantha also revealed that after the actress' mom and dad divorced they made an effort "so it was like she had two houses." According to Samantha, "no one was estranged" while encouraging her followers to read her book.

However, many were not pleased with Samantha's reaction because they felt that she was just using Markle's popularity. "Samantha is looking for drama and cashing in on it too! Pretty Disgusting!" one user commented on her post.

"I believe that's true, I also believe a couple of her sibs are ready to make money on her with books and tv shows and that's not love. That's just wrong," another user added.

Meanwhile, others defended Prince Harry. They believe that he has no intentions of offending someone with that statement.
