Michelle Obama's Inauguration Day Outfit: How To Get The Look
Michelle Obama is known for her fashionable outfits, and social media is going wild for her 2021 Inauguration Day look.
The former First Lady and former President Barack Obama made their arrival to Washington, D.C. Wednesday morning to watch President Joe Biden officially become the next president of the U.S. Michelle’s outfit choice has been the talk of social media because of its elegance and ability to grab attention.
Her raspberry/magenta-colored outfit was designed by Sergio Hudson, a black designer from South Carolina.
Michelle’s entire outfit is made-up of a turtleneck sweater, wide-leg trousers, a matching coat, a gold belt, leather gloves and a sleek black mask to top it off.
Fans of the look can get a similar (though not identical) outfit straight from Hudson’s website. There’s a black dress from the “Signature Collection” that comes with the same thick, waist belt with gold accents for $1,295.
Hudson also designed part of Vice President Kamala Harris’ outfit as well, according to Marie Claire. Her coat was designed by another American designer, Christopher John Rogers.
As for the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, American designer Alexandra O’Neill, founder of the label Markarian, created her blue wool tweed coat and dress, Vanity Fair reports.
President Joe Biden isn't exactly a fashionista, but he also embraced U.S. designers for the ceremony with a custom Ralph Lauren suit.
The inauguration started at 12:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
