‘The Mick’: Will Dave Annable Return As Teddy Grant Later In The Season?

Dave Annable made his series debut as Teddy Grant in last night’s Season 1, episode 6 of “The Mick.” But have fans seen the last of his character given what happened to him at the end of the installment?

Following his second date with Mickey (Kaitlin Olson), upper-crust guy Teddy agreed to come with her back to the Pembertons’ mansion where they found Sabrina (Sofia Black-D’Elia) and Chip (Thomas Barbusca) in the middle of a very physical brawl over who should stay in the master bedroom. The intense fight between the siblings culminated with a high-heeled shoe landing right into Teddy’s left eye. He’s then rushed to the hospital, leaving fans wondering if he’s going to cross paths with Mick again.

“As long as they don’t ship him off to a hospital elsewhere, he is a resident of Connecticut,” Annable told Entertainment Weekly, when asked if viewers are going to see his character pops up in future episodes of the FOX series. “So I think there’d be plenty of room for him to come back.”

In fact, the “Heartbeat” alum already has an idea on what could happen next when Teddy returns to the show. “If there is a ‘Bring Teddy Back’ campaign, which will probably be started by my mother, hopefully we can meet his family,” Annable told TV Insider.

Whether or not Annable ends up returning to the network sitcom, it’s possible that people may also see him on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” in which “The Mick” creators Dave and John Chernin serve as producers. When asked if he let the Chernin brothers know that he’s available to guest star in Season 13 of the FX’s sitcom,” Annable said: “I think they got that idea when I showed up with my headshot and résumé to the first day of shooting. [Laughs] You can’t come in too hot, but of course I let them know I am such a big fan, and I am now even more so after working with them.”

“The Mick’s” next episode, titled “The Country Club,” airs on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 8:30 p.m. EST on FOX. Check out the synopsis for Season 1, episode 7 below:
