Miranda Lambert Finds Her Creativity In Great Plains Of Texas
Miranda Lambert’s hit song “Tin Man” was released in 2016, but it continues to be a popular number even today. In a recent interview, the singer and songwriter explained how a trip to Texas helped inspire her and her fellow writers to come up with this beautiful song.
Lambert won the ACM award for “Tin Man” along with Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. In an interview with ACM Tempo magazine, the singer shared details about how the trio went to Texas to clear their heads to write songs, CMT reported. Lambert’s hometown is Lindale, but she took her team to Marfa, which is 600 miles west of her hometown.
CBS has described Marfa as the “capital of quirkiness.” Lambert and her fellow songwriters decided to spend some time at a ranch that is located at the foothills of Davis Mountains, and it is here that they got the inspiration to write great songs.
What inspired Lambert the most in west Texas is that this “vast and beautiful” land helps people to listen to themselves. There’s nothing there for miles, which is quite the contrast for the hectic lifestyle in the city. The environment helped Lambert to quietly reflect on her thoughts.
The stillness of Texas helped stir up creativity in Lambert, the singer revealed. When they started writing “Tin Man,” she instinctively knew they were on the right track. As soon as the team wrote down the first verse of the song they knew that it would be “special.” The lyrics of the song are about heartbreak, and it uses the metaphor of a Tin Man to explain how hard it is for person to live with a broken heart when compared to someone who doesn’t have one.
Lambert said in her interview that she is happy to share the ups and downs of her life through her music. “Telling the truth is scary but it’s worth it,” she said.
That trip to Texas appears to be still fresh in Lambert’s memory. The singer’s most recent Instagram post is a quote by American author Edward Abbey. The quote is about the author wishing the readers that their trails be “crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous” so that they get some of the most amazing views.
Lambert had been busy in 2018. In another Instagram post, she thanked her fans for supporting her as she launched her new album and a new line of clothing and boots.
