'Monster' Python Found Under Garbage Bin, Snake Catcher Issues Warning
A snake catcher issued a warning to the public after he found a massive carpet python under a garbage bin in Nambour, Australia. Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers posted a video on his Facebook page after discovering the reptile.
"The snakes just keep getting bigger," McKenzie captioned the video. "We were genuinely surprised when we revealed this monster carpet python from under the bin on their front porch in Nambour today."
"It is pretty crazy how this big snake somehow fit under the small wheelie bin. This is one of the biggest carpet pythons I've caught in years!" he wrote, warning locals to keep an eye out for any more big snakes during the breeding season.
"If you find a snake, first thing you should do is get all people, kids and pets away from the snake," he said. "If you want to relocate it, keep an eye on it from a safe distance and give your local snake catcher a call."
Before this, McKenzie was called to remove a huge red belly as it slithered through a school Friday.
Speaking to International Business Times about the rescue operation, McKenzie said, "The snake was right down the back and took off down a hill and went in a creek and I jumped in the shallow creek to catch it."
A photo of McKenzie holding the huge venomous reptile was posted on Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7's Facebook page with the caption, "Have a go at the size of this Red Bellied Black Snake! What a healthy individual. It certainly proved quite difficult to catch!"
