MTV’s “The Challenge” is set to return for its 36th season after a five-month hiatus. “The Challenge: Double Agents” premieres Dec. 9 with a mix of veterans and other television stars.

The 2020 cast is made up of 30 contestants. The new installment will see them all compete for their share of $1 million over the course of 19 episodes.

“Challenge” veterans Wes Bergmann and Chris “CT” Tamburello are back, having competed in a combined 32 seasons. This will be Aneesa Ferreira’s 14th season as she continues to look for her first win.

Darrell Taylor is part of the cast for the first time in three years. With four championships in his nine seasons, Taylor is one of the strongest “Challenge” competitors of all time.

Theresa Jones is set to compete in her seventh season. She hasn’t been part of the show since “Battle of the Exes II” in 2015 when she reached the final.

The most accomplished “Challenge” competitor in history is not part of the cast. Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio's absence comes after he won his seventh championship earlier this year on “Total Madness.”

Jenny West, the female winner of Season 35, is also not part of the Season 36 cast.
