‘Nashville’ Season 4 Spoilers: Episode 18 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In ‘The Trouble With The Truth’? [PHOTOS & VIDEO]
Rayna and Deacon are used to having to fight for their relationship, but fighting to see their daughter is new. Maddie is taking her emancipation battle to court in “Nashville” Season 4, episode 18, and it sounds like the odds are stacked against the parents — especially after a friend betrays them.
“Rayna and Deacon fight to regain the trust of a determined Maddie as she seeks independence, but their efforts are undermined by someone they thought was an ally,” the synopsis for the ABC drama teases. So who is going to turn against Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten)? It could be Frankie (Mark Collie).
Deacon’s business partner is Cash’s (Jessy Schram) father, and she is the one who spearheaded the whole emancipation initiative for Maddie (Lennon Stella). Plus, the trailer for episode 18, titled “The Trouble With the Truth,” makes it seem like Frankie and Deacon are going to get into a fight, but Frankie isn’t just going to call it assault. “He tried to kill me!” Frankie tells a group of onlookers.

The trailer also makes it clear that Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) will grow suspicious of Layla’s (Aubrey Peeples) intentions with Avery (Jonathan Jackson). But will anyone believe Juliette, or will they brush off her concerns as jealousy?
Elsewhere, Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) just got back together, but they won’t stop fighting for long. “Scarlett and Gunnar disagree on the history of their musical partnership during a press interview,” the synopsis teases.
At least they have a booming career. Their friend Will (Chris Carmack) can’t say the same, despite Luke’s (Will Chase) best efforts. “Luke tries to do the right thing for an artist he admires, but it ends up backfiring,” the synopsis says. The label head decided to call out the radio programmers who wouldn’t play Will’s music in the last episode, but that might not have helped after all.
Among the fictional country stars will be a real one. Kelsea Ballerini will play herself in episode 18, and she’ll perform her song “Peter Pan.” “Extra” Hosts Mario Lopez and Charissa Thompson will also portray themselves on the ABC drama.
“Nashville” Season 4, episode 18 airs Wednesday, May 4, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
