Is Nina Dobrev Teasing A ‘Vampire Diaries’ Reunion With David Anders And Kayla Ewell?

Nina Dobrev seems to be having a blast with old friends while filming the “Vampire Diaries” series finale. The actress went on Twitter to show that she has happily reunited with former stars of the series.

On Thursday, the “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” star tweeted a photo of herself with David Anders and Kayla Ewell. The actors played John Gilbert, Elena’s biological dad, and Vicki Donovan, Matt’s sister. Both characters were killed off in early seasons of the CW drama.

Does Dobrev’s tweet hint at their return? It’s certainly possible. The actress revealed last week that she is currently filming the final episode of “The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 after leaving the show at the end of Season 6.

Anders also hinted at his return earlier this week. The actor wrote on Twitter that he was heading back to Atlanta, and he felt that fans should be able to figure out why he’s there. It seems Dobrev and Ewell aren’t the only former “TVD” stars he has been hanging out with. He has also seen Michael Trevino, who played Tyler Lockwood until the character’s death earlier this season.

As for Ewell, the actress hasn’t dropped any hints on social media, but she has returned to the series several times since her character’s death. Most recently, she was in a January episode as a part of Damon’s (Ian Somerhalder) subconscious.

It isn’t clear how any of the dead characters would return, but it isn’t clear how Elena will come back either. When Dobrev left the show, Elena was put under a spell that linked her to Bonnie (Kat Graham). As long as the witch is alive, Elena is unconscious. Fans will have to tune in to see just how Elena overcomes the Sleeping Beauty curse in Season 8.
