‘One Royal Holiday’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
Hallmark Channel’s merry holiday season continues with the newest of the holiday premieres, “One Royal Holiday.” The film, part of “Countdown to Christmas 2020,” stars Laura Osnes and Aaron Tveit.
The film will be one which will allow Hallmark fans to see some fresh faces, as Osnes has only previously starred in Hallmark Channel’s “In The Key of Love” and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “A Homecoming For the Holidays.” She is best known for her work on Broadway, where she initiated the roles of Sandy Dumbrowski in “Grease,” the Host in “The 24th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition,” Hope Harcourt in “Anything Goes,” Bonnie Parker in “Bonnie & Clyde,” Ella in “Cinderella” and Julia Trojan in “Bandstand.”
Like Osnes, Tveit is best known for his work on Broadway, where he originated the roles of Gabe in “Next To Normal,” Frank Abagnale Jr in “Catch Me If You Can” and Christian in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical!” Some may also recognize him as Danny Zuko from “Grease: Live!” However, he is a new face to the Hallmark family, making his debut in this film.
So what will happen when these two Broadway vets team up for Tveit’s first-ever Hallmark film? While singing may not be required for this film, these two will be lending their talents to some holiday romance—and will teach other some new traditions when it comes to the way two very different people could celebrate the holidays.
“When Anna (Osnes) offers a stranded mother and son (Tveit) shelter in a blizzard, she learns that they are the Royal Family of Galwick,” a synopsis for the film reads.
After the initial shock of having royalty in her home wears off, Anna quickly gets to work when she realizes that Prince James isn’t quite familiar with how to celebrate the Christmas holiday, and teaches him about her traditions.
“Anna shows the Prince how they do Christmas in her hometown of Kentsbury,” the synopsis adds.
Will a Christmas in Kentsbury lead to a new royal romance?
Krystal Joy Brown, Victoria Clark, Tom McGowan and Bradley Rose also star in the film.
“One Royal Holiday” premieres Saturday, Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
