‘Power’ Season 5 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis; ‘There’s A Snitch Among Us’ Promo

Now that Kanan is dead, Ghost and Tommy are left to take out Dre on their own but it won’t be that easy. On “Power” Season 5, episode 9, the two men will struggle to work together when they begin to doubt whether they can trust one another.

“When Angela’s (Lela Loren) arrest of Jimenez gives her a solid win, she discovers plans that would undercut her career,” the synopsis for “There’s a Snitch Among Us” teases. In the Starz promo, a SWAT team is seen storming into several places as Angela looks troubled.

Although Angela believes she has cleaned up her mess after covering up Tariq’s (Michael Rainey Jr.) murder of officer Jones (Marcus Callender), she still has the AUSA’s office working against her.

Even if she manages to take down one of the most dangerous cartels, will that be enough? Or will she have to do something she regrets just to save her career?

“Ghost (Omari Hardwick) tasks Tommy (Joseph Sikora) in killing a snitch changing all of their lives,” the synopsis says. In the “Power” Season 5, episode 9 promo video, Ghost warns Tommy not to trust Teresi (William Sadler) because he is too close to him, but Tommy questions whether that advice should apply to his relationship with Ghost.

Viewers are aware that Teresi has been feeding the feds information about Tommy and Ghost’s operation, but will Ghost figure out the old man is the one providing the authorities with Intel?

Or could it be the actual crime that will change their lives? With the feds keeping close tabs on the two men, Tommy could be caught committing the murder. If the feds witness the crime, Tommy would be doomed to spend his life in prison and it would be Ghost’s fault.

Elsewhere in the “There’s a Snitch Among Us” promo video, Proctor (Jerry Ferrara) warns Ghost the feds are coming after him and he needs to choose himself or he will do life in prison. How far will Ghost go to avoid spending his life behind bars?

“Tariq accepts the consequences of his choices,” the synopsis for the Starz series states. In the promo, Tariq states he was the only person who really cared for Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) and took a loss so Tommy and Ghost could win.

Ghost initially planned to frame Dre (Rotimi) for Raina’s (Donshea Hopkins) murder but Tasha (Naturi Naughton) and Angela concocted a plan on their own to frame Kanan.

Although Ghost didn’t plan on killing him, he was also unaware of just how close Tariq was to Kanan. The teen spent a lot of time with the hustler, who was slowly convincing him to become a drug dealer.

Now that Kanan is gone, will Tariq continue his journey into a life of crime or will he finally make a change for the better?

“Power” Season 5, episode 9 airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT on Starz.
