Prince Harry, Meghan Markle May Choose This ‘Quirky’ Name For Baby Girl
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome their first child in just a couple of weeks. Ahead of their baby’s arrival, royal fans are wondering what name they will give their child.
Some of the most popular names if Prince Harry and Markle will have a baby girl are Elizabeth, Victoria, Alexandra, Diana, and Doria. But a baby name expert said that it is also possible for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to give their firstborn a quirky name.
SJ Ljungstrom recently shared her predictions on the parenting website ChannelMum.
“The books have some favorites and they are very traditional. Whereas, I think they might surprise us and go with a much quirkier and more interesting choice. If it’s a girl, we know that both Meghan and Harry are proud and loud feminists, and may choose a strong female icon for their baby girl,” she said.
Ljungstrom said that the name Maya may be at the top of the list of Markle and Prince Harry’s possible moniker for their baby. After all, the name Maya comes from Markle’s favorite American poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou.
“We know this is somebody who has really inspired Meghan. Maya means ‘illusion’ and is also linked to the month of May, when the baby may be arriving,” the expert said.
However, Ljungstrom still did not discount the possibility that Prince Harry and Markle would honor Princess Diana by giving their baby the same name. Prince William and Kate Middleton also did the same thing with their daughter Princess Charlotte.
Other possible baby girl names include Lily and Liberty. And if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will have a baby boy, the expert said that they could name him Arthur, Edward, James, Philip, Alexander, Frederick, Theodore, Hugo, or Seth.
Royal fans will only know the gender and name of Prince Harry and Markle’s baby after its birth between the end of April and the first week of May.
