Prince Harry, Meghan Markle To Spend Engagement Anniversary Apart For This Reason
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to spend their engagement anniversary apart due to the Duke of Sussex’s royal task.
Hayley Richardson, a journalist for The Sun, revealed that Prince Harry will be flying to Zambia for a solo engagement at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Prince Harry will be attending a board meeting for non-profit organization African Parks.
After arriving in Zambia, Prince Harry will attend a reception to celebrate UK-Zambia relations and visit Burma Barracks for an event commemorating the WWI and WWII Zambian veterans. The Duke of Sussex will also attend events for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and will visit the Bongo Hive, Zambia’s first technology and innovation hub for his final engagement.
The Duke of Sussex’s upcoming overseas tour will be his second in less than a month. In October, Prince Harry and Markle spent 16 days on tour in Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and New Zealand. This time around, he won’t be joined by Markle because the Duchess of Sussex is pregnant with her first child.
Markle is expected to give birth in the spring of 2019, and there are some predictions suggesting that she and Prince Harry will have a baby girl. The Duchess of Sussex and the Duke of Sussex were last seen in public at the Royal Variety Performance on Monday night.
While there, Prince Harry was photographed kissing an elephant puppet operated by Luke Chadwick-Jones. The elephant named Peanut is a realistic puppet from the act “Circus 1903.” Upon seeing Prince Harry kiss Peanut, Markle couldn’t help but laugh.
The Duchess of Sussex also thanked whoever is under Peanut’s costume after receiving a bouquet of flowers. The royal couple also met the members of Take That and Markle declared that she’s a huge fan of the group. They also had the chance to meet “Britain’s Got Talent” winner the Lost Voice Guy Lee Ridley at the event.
