Princess Eugenie celebrated the new year by sharing some of her most memorable moments of 2021.

Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter, 31, reflected on her first year as a mom in an Instagram post Friday as she shared never-before-seen photos of her and her husband Jack Brooksbank's now-10-month-old son, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.

In one picture, Princess Eugenie can be seen flashing a huge smile at the camera as she held her baby boy during a stroll. Another snap showed the mother and son enjoying a walk in the woods, while a third picture featured Brooksbank cradling August with one hand.

The princess also included in her post a touching photo of her late grandfather Prince Philip with the Queen and an image of the footprints of her niece Sienna Elizabeth, whom her sister Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi welcomed in September.

"Happy New Year to all. Goodbye 2021," Princess Eugenie wrote in the post. "A year that blessed us with our boy and saw our family grow with new additions but also a year that took some of our biggest and brightest lights. Forever in our hearts."

Princess Eugenie and her husband of three years welcomed their son in February. August is Queen Elizabeth's ninth great-grandchild.

However, the princess and Brooksbank also lost her grandfather Prince Philip and her husband's father, George Brooksbank, last year.

The Duke of Edinburgh died in Windsor Castle at the age of 99 on April 9, two months before his 100th birthday.

"They're one of the most remarkable couples. I think the world has ever seen and will ever see and granny has been able to be the person she is with the support and love from grandpa," Princess Eugenie said in a BBC documentary about Prince Philip.

Meanwhile, George, 72, had "been ill for some time" after battling coronavirus last year and died shortly before August's royal christening in November, according to The PA.

Brooksbank's father spent nine weeks in the hospital, including five weeks on a ventilator, with COVID-19 after a trip to France, The Telegraph reported.

Following her latest post, Princess Eugenie received greetings and messages of support from friends and followers.

"Can’t wait to see what 2022 brings your beautiful family," Kinsey Schofield commented.

"Happy new year to you and your beautiful family," another Instagram user wrote.

"I lost my dad on Nov. 3, and then our oldest fur baby a week later on Nov. 10. So sorry for your family loss this year as well," a third person wrote.
