‘Real Housewives Of NYC’ Star Sonja Morgan Confirms Plastic Surgery Rumors, Gushes Over Facelift
In the past, cast members from “The Real Housewives of New York City” have either owned up to getting work done or firmly denied plastic surgery rumors. On Monday, star Sonja Morgan decided to openly talk about her own nip and tuck after fans noticed she appeared younger in her photos on social media.
Sonja started by sharing a before and after picture on Instagram in which she debuted her deep plane facelift and thanked the person who gave her the new look, Dr. Andrew Jacono.
In the caption, she wrote, “There’s been speculation around my fresh new look. I got a lower facelift and neck lift after wrapping Season 12. I just wanted to be rid of the wrinkling on my neck and the jowls that were starting to form. People thought I was nuts because it was so subtle. But not to me!”
“It was a no-brainer,” she continued. “Gravity had taken its toll, I was also exhausted and I needed a 'pick me up.' I entrusted my face to the best @drjacono and he hit it out of the park. He uses a method called deep plane which goes under the muscle so your skin is still attached. Your blood flows and your face stays vibrant and heals fast.”
According to Jacono’s website, the deep plane facelift focuses on using the deeper layer of muscles responsible for facial expression and fat layers to make the skin appear more youthful.
A description of the procedure reveals, “The main tenet of the deep plane facelift is that it lifts only under the muscle layer, leaving the skin attached to the muscle layers, so it can never look tight. It also lifts the cheeks by releasing the tethering points of the face in the deep plane so that addition of fat or filler is unnecessary.”
E! News reported that Sonja spent $75,000 on her facelift and neck lift. Despite the steep price, Sonja told the outlet that she had no regrets about her decision. “He’s the Park Ave. surgeon of all surgeons... I don’t take chances. My face is my money. Well, first my mouth is my money and like to say my assets are my money, too!”
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EDT on Bravo.
