Remy Ma And Nicki Minaj Feuding? Fans Think Ma’s Verse On ‘Wait A Minute’ Remix Is Aimed At Minaj
Is Remy Ma feuding with Nicki Minaj?
While Ma has not directly addressed the issue, many believe that her verse in the remix of the song “Wait a Minute” is directed at Minaj.
In the song, Ma says: “Same [people] call me, that’s how I knew y’all was phony/ I put putting that work, taking ‘em to church, cause I leave ‘em holy/ Will I smoke this [girl]?/ Yes/ Probably fail my piss test/ Get rid of those fake breasts/ And put a vest on this chest.”
Ma also mentioned that the girl she was referring to has lost her ghostwriter, so her time in the limelight is almost up.
People on Twitter have assumed that the verse was aimed at Minaj. The speculation became stronger when Minaj’s ex-boyfriend, Safaree Samuels, posted a photo with Ma on Instagram.
It is interesting to note that Minaj hinted that she and Ma may collaborate on a track. During an interview with “Ebro in the Morning” in October, Minaj said it was “only a matter of time” before a track from them is released. “When I was working on ‘The Pinkprint,’ I wanted to do a song with Remy and Foxy [Brown], and I still have the song to this day,” Minaj said. “It was on a Diplo beat, but it was super-hood and hard.”
This is not the first time that speculations about a rift between Ma and Minaj have surfaced.
Ma denied Minaj’s claim that they had worked on a song together during an interview with Rap-Up. When asked about the song, Ma said it was never recorded. “When we discussed it, she actually said, ‘Don’t tell anybody. It’s top secret,’” Ma said. “So the fact that she disclosed that information is beyond me. I don’t think that’s what people wanted to hear, that combination. That was just my personal decision so I didn’t want to do that.”
The rapper added that she opted out of the project because she did not feel like it was appropriate for her to be there, considering the other artist collaborating on the track is Minaj’s friend, and she and Minaj aren’t exactly close.
