A Pakistani fisherman caught a giant whale shark in the open sea, and brough it to the Karachi Fish Harbour. How giant was this whale shark? ABC reports that the deep sea creature is 40-50 feet long, and six feet wide. Mehmood Khan, owner of Charai Fishery, said that they had spotted the whale shark unconscious 10 days ago. At that time it had been around 93 miles away from the fishery. The whale shark is usually found in deep warm oceans, said ABC.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may try to keep a low profile, but the two on-screen vampires were spotted by a fan Feb. 6 in Sherman Oaks, Calif. The reality star is in trouble for probation violation as well as drug violation. According to E! News, in December authorities found prescription medication in Portwood's purse that she had no prescription for. Portwood was sentenced to two years for her probation violation and three years for the drug violation.

In a horrific twist of events, Josh Powell, husband of Susan Powell, a Utah woman who has been missing since 2009, killed himself and his two sons Sunday afternoon. On Sunday Josh Powell sent out a cryptic message to his attorney, Jeffrey Bassett, stating “I’m sorry, goodbye.” A couple hours later an explosion in Powell’s Washington state home killed him and his two sons.

Caroline Lovell, an Australian photographer and campaigner for home births passed away Tuesday, January 23. The 36-year-old went into cardiac arrest while at home giving birth to Zahra, her second child. Lovell was taken to the hospital but died the next day. Home births in the U.S. have been on a rise in recent years, with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recording 29.650 births in 2009.
