"People called me a fraud," the climber said. "I am happy now. I waited for many years to achieve this goal."

A research scientist working on the project called rats "sociable" creatures and said: "They are perfect for search and rescue-type work. They can live off anything. They are very good at surviving in different environments..."

"This giveaway does not promote safe gun ownership, which should go hand in hand with hunting and with sport shooting," Nancy Fry, a volunteer for the Florida chapter of Moms Demand Action in Broward County, said in response to the activity.

The suspect "is a serial killer of women, and there are at least seven cases of women’s killings where this person could be involved," said Assistant Public Safety Secretary Ricardo Mejia.

Cops tracked down the suspect, who shot himself inside a car in a parking lot.

"This man just groped me," yelled the first victim, who was taking care of her baby when the man inappropriately touched her.

Cops received a tip that led them to finding parts to explosives and assault rifles in the teenager's house.

The man called up the person his girlfriend was speaking with and threatened to shoot their house.

The accused knew the woman from his work as a deputy sheriff, Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said.

Despite the abuse she's been through, the dog "is still wagging her tail and wants to be held ... She is resting comfortably right now," an animal rescue group said.

Witnesses said the man jumped out of the wheelchair and smeared the cake on the glass protecting the iconic painting.
