“Scorpion” Season 3, episode 12 opens with Team Scorpion checking on a pipeline in the desert during one of their missions.

As it turns out, none of them was wearing a bulletproof vest. This results in Agent Cabe Gallo (Robert Patrick) getting seriously injured. The rest of the episode then focuses on Walter (Elyes Gabel), Toby (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Paige (Katharine McPhee), Sylvester (Ari Stidham) and Happy (Jadyn Wong) thinking of a way to save their leader. Unfortunately, this does not come easy for anyone because they are all distraught.

Each of the characters has a sweet and touching moment with Cabe while he was unconscious. Happy, for instance, shows how much she's come to care for Cabe when she tells him that she would be upset if they will no longer be roommates. Sylvester, who is afraid of a lot of things, bags a rattlesnake for Cabe despite being freaked out by it. Walter, who is not fond of expressing himself or talking about his feelings, tells Cabe that he loves him, fearing that he could lose him forever.

The loss of Tim (Scott Porter) also has a major effect on the members of Team Scorpion. Sylvester reminds everyone that Tim used to be an integral part of the team so losing him means they are not as effective as they used to be. He adds how Tim also helped make the team more productive while he was around.

With Tim gone, Paige just can’t deal with Walter. After all, she’s blaming him for Tim’s decision to take the job offer in Jordan. Still, when Walter finds himself in serious danger, Paige is the first one to look out for him.

“Scorpion” Season 3 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on CBS.
