While the latter is in the courtroom, Harlee runs to him and sees the suspect seemingly preparing to shoot Naval. Luckily, she is able to stop him. The awkward encounter between Harlee and Naval continues when he tries to confront the murderer and ask why he wants him and Caroline killed. But Harlee stops Naval from doing so because he could jeopardize their investigation.

In the previous episode, Naval asked Harlee to leave him for good. The couple had been dating for a few months, and Naval recently realized that nothing good came out of their partnership. Harlee tried to stop Naval from breaking up with her, but he already made up his mind in episode 5.

Elsewhere, Harlee faced another struggle when Loman (Dayo Okeniyi) confronted Wozniak about his relationship to Stahl (Warren Kole). Loman saw the two of them talking, and he immediately assumed that Wozniak is the mole who is working with the FBI. Harlee could not let Wozniak down once again, so she decided to tell their team that she’s the one giving information to Stahl.

But what Wozniak, Harlee, Tess and the rest of their team don’t know yet is that Loman is also digging into his boss’ past. When he saw a photo of Wozniak and Donnie (Michael Esper), Loman’s instincts told him that their relationship is more than just professional.

“Shades of Blue” Season 2 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
