‘Sleepy Hollow’ Season 4 Spoilers: Tom Mison Talks About Abbie Mills’ Successor, Reveals What’s Next For Ichabod And Diana
Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) certainly didn’t expect Abbie Mills’ successor to be an 11-year-old child in Fox’s “Sleepy Hollow.” In Friday’s episode, the next witness was revealed to be none other than Homeland Security Agent Diana Thomas’s (Janina Gavankar) daughter Molly (Oona Yaffe).
Furthermore, the once mute Molly started talking when she saw Crane. It was clearly a sign that she is destined to witness the apocalypse. But how does Ichabod feel about his new partner? More importantly, what role will she play in “Sleepy Hollow”? Clearly an 11-year-old can’t be expected to fight demons with guns.
“There were lots of different avenues that the new Witness could’ve gone down. An 11-year-old girl certainly wasn’t one that I saw coming,” Mison told TVLine, “For Ichabod, to see that it’s an 11-year-old girl, knowing the sort of battle that she’s entering, how could anyone be enthused? How could he be excited that he’s found the next witess, when it’s a child?”
Although Ichabod and Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) chose not to tell Diana about Molly’s pivotal role, he will break the bad news in the upcoming episode in “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4. “Crane does a scene in one of the episodes where he explains to Diana that the witnesses in the Bible are only meant to be there to witness,” Mison previewed. “There’s nothing in the Bible that says, ‘They go in with flaming crossbows and things.’ Ichabod and Abbie chose to fight, to battle against it. And Molly can choose a different route -- which I suppose is one that he and Diana and Jenny would encourage.”
Meanwhile, “Sleepy Hollow” Season 4, episode 3 will see the return of Crane’s arch nemesis, the Headless Horseman. The synopsis states that the Horseman will threaten the safety of Washington’s highest officials.
Additionally, Jake’s (Jerry MacKinnon) extensive knowledge of the tunnels becomes important when the team uncovers a secret from the past.
“Sleepy Hollow” Season 4, episode 3, titled “Heads Of State,” premieres Friday, Jan. 20 at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
