'Spenser Confidential' Cast Reveal Their Coronavirus Prevention Steps: 'Get Ready For A Shutdown'
Cast members from “Spenser Confidential” are among many stars who are trying to stay healthy amidst a global epidemic.
During the Netflix Original film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, the actors shared the precautionary measures they are taking against the Coronavirus with USA Today.
“I washed my hands three times more today than I usually do,” said Alan Arkin, who plays Henry Cimoli in the movie. “I washed them many times.”
However, when it comes to canceling travel plans the “Argo” actor didn’t seem too worried because he “never want[s] to go anywhere anyway.”
Winston Duke, who plays Mark Wahlberg’s roommate in the film, is taking similar action.
“Washing my hands more often, using my Purell, covering my face when I’m in super social spaces, on flights. Things like that,” the “Us” star shared. “Just being mindful not just for yourself, but for others. Protecting yourself also protects the community that we live in and I think we just need to be more aware of that...What this virus always reminds me of is that we’re never alone.”
Kip Weeks recommends that people begin stocking their homes with survival resources.
“You just get prepared. Buy a bunch of masks, get a bunch of water, get a bunch of food and get ready for a shutdown,” the actor, who plays Macklin, said. “I do believe, um, we’re all going to be hibernating in our homes for a little bit.”
On the other hand, Iliza Shlesinger, who plays Cissy in the film, was pretty lighthearted with her response to the matter.
“I’m going to get one of those face masks which will do nothing because it’s a disease and it can get under paper,” the “Forever 31” star said.”I’m still open mouth kissing everyone I see. Is that a bad idea?”
Another celebrity who noted the ineffectiveness of surgical masks against the Coronavirus is Kate Hudson, as International Business Times reports. After sharing a post of herself wearing a basic mask, Hudson learned that she would need a more advanced mask like the N95 respirator that her fellow actress Gwyneth Paltrow was seen wearing on a flight to Paris.
Despite many stars taking seemingly frantic precautions against the virus, Arkin pointed out that there also many deaths caused by the flu each year.
“At the moment, I’m not going to jump into the hysteria that people are so fond of,” he concluded.
