‘The Strain’ Season 3 Spoilers: Will Zack Be The Master’s Next Vessel? 4 Reasons Why Eph’s Son Will Replace Bolivar
One of the most pressing questions on “The Strain” Season 3, apart from Quinlan’s pseudo death, is who will be The Master’s next vessel. After the born decapitated rock star Bolivar’s body, the strigoi leader was left with no host. However, The Master preserved his essence in the form of a crimson worm that swiftly made its way to the tunnels.
So, who will be The Master’s new body? A theory that is gaining popularity is that The Master’s new vessel will be none other than Zack (Max Charles) – Dr. Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Kelly’s (Natalie Brown) son. Here are a few reasons why it makes sense:
1. He’s Kept Him Alive
After the exchange of the Occido Lumen for Zack’s life failed, what reason could The Master and his Nazi-loving lapdog Thomas Eichhorst (Richard Sammel) have for keeping him alive? The strigoi leader won’t keep the boy alive unless it’s for a reason and we have a sinking feeling it’s because he’s The Master’s next vessel.
2. Eichhorst Called Him “Special”
In “The Strain” Season 3, episode 6, which aired on Sunday, Eichhorst met Eph in the tunnel below Central Park after he found Zack’s note. The Nazi strigoi called his son “special” and, judging by his past, Eichhorst only calls people who are valuable “special.”
3. In The Books, The Master Grooms Zack To Be His New Host Body
FX’s “The Strain” is based on a trilogy penned by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. In the third book, “The Night Eternal,” The Master grooms Zack to be his next host while occupying the body of Gabriel Bolivar. Although the horror series frequently deviates from the books, it definitely gives this theory some credibility.
4. Why Else Is He Is So Important To The Story?
Let’s face it: Zack can sometimes be an annoying presence on “The Strain.” Some fans certainly don’t like his character. But there is no denying that he has been important to the story from the start.
“The Strain” Season 3 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
