‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Spoilers: Lillian Luthor Tries To Recruit Lena To Her Evil Cause In Episode 12 Trailer
Will Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath) join the dark side in next week’s episode of “Supergirl”?
The trailer for Season 2, episode 12 of the CW series teases a potential reconciliation between Lena and her adoptive mom Lillian (Brenda Strong), who tries to get her forgiveness by reminding her that they are family. “We’re the only two Luthors left and we need to be there for each other,” Lillian tells her daughter.
After that reunion between the two Luthors, Metallo (Frederick Schmidt) manages to break out of prison and escape with Lillian. According to the synopsis for the episode, the police blame Lena for their breakout and arrest her. Although there is overwhelming evidence proving that Lena is responsible for the escape of the Krypton-powered cyborg and the CADMUS leader, Kara (Melissa Benoist) refuses to believe that L-Corp’s CEO is guilty.
James (Mehcad Brooks), a.k.a. the Guardian, attempts to change how Kara feels about Lena by pointing out Lena’s connection to Lex Luthor. “I know she’s your friend but he is bad news,” James tells the Girl of Steel.
When Kara insists that she believes Lena doesn’t have anything to do with Metallo and Lillian’s escape, a disappointed James says: “You have so much faith in her but none in me as Guardian.”
Whether or not Lena is behind Metallo and Lillian’s prison break, the young Luthor may have already decided to join her mother’s evil cause. At the end of the trailer, Lillian brings Lena to a room that houses Lex’s warsuit, among many others. “[Here is] everything we need to rid this planet of Kryptonians once and for all,” Lillian tells her daughter.
Elsewhere in the episode, Alex (Chyler Leigh) formally introduces Maggie (Floriana Lima) to her friends at the DEO.
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 12, aptly titled “Luthors,” airs on Monday, Feb 13 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW. Watch the trailer below:
