‘Supergirl’ Spoilers: Melissa Benoist Teases Teri Hatcher’s Debut And How Kara Discovers Mon-El’s Secret
“Supergirl” star Melissa Benoist couldn’t be more thrilled with Teri Hatcher’s addition to the cast.
In a recent interview with TV Insider, Benoist said that Hatcher’s “Supergirl” casting has improved the CW series in more ways than one. “Having her on the show only enhances it. She is the perfect addition,” Benoist said of the former Lois Lane actress, who is set to make her debut appearance as Rhea in next week’s Season 2, episode 16.
“There are a few scenes I think people will love to see, especially fans of ‘Lois & Clark,’” Benoist told the news outlet before the “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow” panel at PaleyFest on Saturday. “There is a scene we did together that I think people will not expect. She is a badass.”

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg is also having a great time working with Hatcher. “She’s been such a joy to work with. It’s amazing to have her around,” said Kreisberg, who also gushed about Hatcher’s portrayal of Rhea.
“Teri, she sank her teeth into this role. It’s kind of like nothing she's played before,” said the exec producer, who revealed that his favorite scene in Monday’s episode is between Rhea and Kara.
The trailer for Monday’s episode reveals that Mon-El (Chris Wood) is actually the Prince of Daxam. But how exactly will Kara find out about this in the episode?
“The way she finds out the truth is not the way she would want to find out — and not just because it’s a secret Mon-El has kept from her this whole time,” Benoist teased to TVLine. “Tensions are high. Daxamites and Kryptonians don’t really get along. Kara and Mon-El found common ground through the kindness in their hearts, but [the new arrivals Rhea and her husband Lar Gand (Kevin Sorbo)] are much more set in their ways, so it’s difficult.”
“Supergirl” Season 2, episode 16, titled “Star-Crossed,” airs on Monday, March 20 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
