‘Sweet Pecan Summer’ Hallmark Movie Premiere: Trailer, Synopsis, Cast
Hallmark’s Summer Nights programming event is getting ready to come to a close for 2021, but fans will still get to enjoy two new premieres before they begin welcoming Fall films. The first of these new films is “Sweet Pecan Summer,” starring Christine Ko and Wes Brown.
Ko will be a new face to Hallmark fans, as this is her first film for the network. She may be recognized from other projects, however, such as “Hawaii Five-O,” “No Good Nick” and “Dave.” She will be partnering up with a Hallmark vet for her first film though, as Brown is surely easy to recognize to Hallmark fans. His most recent films have included “Christmas Cookies,” “Under the Autumn Moon,” “Christmas at Graceland,” “Wedding at Graceland,” “Over the Moon in Love,” “Check Inn to Christmas” and “A Nashville Christmas Carol.”
So what can fans expect from this film? Let’s find out.
“Amanda (Ko) works in product development at a large cosmetics company. While she loves what she does, Amanda feels like she can’t implement her best ideas since the company is content to stick with its long-term flagship products, leaving her frustrated,” a synopsis reads. “One day, her favorite aunt, Carol (Lauren Tom), calls Amanda and shares exciting news—she met a man and will be moving away to live near him, ready to start the next chapter of her life. But first, Aunt Carol needs to sell her pecan farm, a place that has been the epicenter of their family’s traditions for all of Amanda's life.”
To get a break from her life, Amanda agrees to head over and help her aunt sell the property. Unfortunately, her aunt has another motive to getting her there—by hiring Amanda’s ex-boyfriend J.P. to work as the broker of the property.
“Stuck having to work with each other, Amanda and J.P. are at odds on practically every decision on how to sell the pecan farm,” the synopsis continues.
However, as they spend more time together, the old feelings begin to resurface—and the two are left to decide if they should give their romance another shot.
“Sweet Pecan Summer” premieres Saturday, Aug. 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
