'Teen Mom's' Leah Messer, Fiancé Jaylan Mobley Announce Split 2 Months After Engagement

"Teen Mom" star Leah Messer is single again after she and her now-ex-fiancé Jaylan Mobley decided to part ways.

Less than two months after announcing the happy news that they were engaged, Messer and Mobley said this week that they have decided to call it quits.

"While the last year has been tremendously exciting for both of us, we've realized that it's best we walk separate paths. We are so grateful for the lessons, growth, and memories we've had in this relationship," they said in a joint statement to People. "So many of you have watched our love story unfold, and we hope that you'll continue to watch our stories while we move forward as friends."

They added, "We will forever have love and respect for each other, and we ask for privacy as we refocus and transition out of this chapter together."

Messer first made her relationship with Mobley Instagram official in September 2021 after sharing a PDA-filled photo together.

In August, Messer announced their engagement via Instagram, sharing photos from Mobley's romantic beachside proposal during their anniversary trip to Costa Rica.

"Two souls, one heart. It's official!!" she wrote in the caption.

The MTV star previously opened up about the proposal to People, sharing that Mobley popped the question as they enjoyed a dinner prepared by a private chef.

"It feels amazing. I never imagined myself being here today, but I couldn't imagine myself being anywhere else," Messer said at the time.

Mobley chimed in, "I can't even express how I'm feeling. I wanted this moment to be the perfect moment for her."

Prior to his proposal, Mobley told Entertainment Tonight that he spoke to Jeremy Calvert and Corey Simms, the fathers of Messer's daughters. Both were reportedly supportive of his proposal plans, with Calvert even telling him he was happy Mobley would be his daughter's stepdad.

"Me and Corey went, we went golfing, and we actually had a discussion about it," Mobley told ET. "And he was all good with that. And I've also had discussions with Jeremy throughout and after, and he's always been like, 'Hey man, I'm just glad you're the one that's in my daughter's life, as becoming that stepdad.'"

Messer was previously married to Simms from 2010 to 2011, and they share 12-year-old twins Ali and Aleeah. Two years later, she married Jeremy Calvert, with whom she welcomed now-9-year-old daughter Adalynn. They divorced three years later.
