Teresa Giudice and her fiancé Luis “Louie” Ruelas received flak after publicizing their latest charitable work on social media.
The couple recently extended their support to Autism Science Foundation, which provides funding to scientists and organizations “conducting, publicizing & disseminating autism research.” Giudice, 49, took to Instagram Monday to share the news with her fans.
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star uploaded a snap of her with Ruelas, 46, and the officers of the organization, President Alison Singer and Chief Science Officer Alycia Halladay Ross.
“Family and giving back are so important! @louiearuelas and I met with @autismsciencefd President @alisonteppersinger and Chief Science Officer @ahalladayross and are thrilled to support this wonderful nonprofit that supports families like ours who are impacted by autism,” Giudice wrote in the caption.
She continued, “Luis is such an incredible dad to his son Nicholas with autism, and we are so proud to support this organization, which funds evidence-based research and helps families through every phase of the autism journey.”
The couple’s gesture received mixed responses, with some calling it a publicity stunt to fix Ruelas’ reputation. Others even urged Joe Giudice’s ex-wife to ditch her boyfriend and find another man.
“Fixing Louis’ reputation in 3, 2…… error 404,” one wrote.
“Yup, they’re trying to clean his image,” added another.
“Luis is giving back too? Or filing [for] bankruptcy,” a third user commented.
“Tre, run [and] find another boyfriend,” a different follower stated.
“Love you girl but he has to go,” a fifth user wrote.
Despite the backlash, many of the Bravo star’s fans chose the positive side of things and complimented her for supporting the organization.
“As a mom with a son on the spectrum, this is so touching. Thank you,” a fan commented.
“I love this so much! I, too, have a child with autism and this means the world to me,” another added.
“Thank you so much! I have a daughter with autism, and I am so happy you are supporting families who are navigating their own journeys,” a different netizen wrote.
“I so appreciate you for doing this. Thank you for supporting the autism community,” one fan stated.
A week ago, Page Six published a report detailing the three lawsuits filed against Ruelas and his company, Digital Media Solutions (DMS), for alleged illegal business practices.
The complaints were filed throughout 2021, and all of them claimed that Ruelas’ digital advertising firm violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Two of them were voluntarily dismissed by their plaintiffs, while the other remained active even if DMS denied the allegations in a response filed on Feb. 7, 2022.
A few days after the exposé, Teresa got admitted to the hospital for emergency surgery. Her rep quickly confirmed that she was at the hospital for a “non-cosmetic” surgery.
A Celebuzz article shared by Joe, 49, revealed that the reality star had her appendix surgically removed. She also recovered fast since she was released “within the next 24 hours.”
